PORTFOLIO

Here’s a more detailed look at some of the work I’m proud of — spanning community engagement, content strategy, social campaigns, and live service support.

STUDIO WILDCARD, ARK: SURVIVAL EVOLVED

I joined Studio Wildcard in December 2015 as the Assistant Community Manager for ARK: Survival Evolved and quickly transitioned to Lead Community Manager. I managed daily social media and forum communications, coordinated closely with dev teams, and participated in QA across multiple platforms (PC, consoles, and mobile).

ARK Titles I worked on:

  • ARK: Survival Evolved

  • ARK: Extinction

  • ARK: Aberration

  • ARK: Scorched Earth

  • ARK: Survival of the Fittest

  • The Center (Expansion Map)

  • ARK: Primitive Plus

  • Ragnarok (Expansion Map)

Community Highlights

During my time at ARK: Survival Evolved I helped pioneer community-driven initiatives that defined its passionate player base and helped shape the game's identity.

Community Spotlighting
One of my ongoing responsibilities at Studio Wildcard was producing the weekly Community Crunch blog series, which spotlighted fan art, screenshots, mods, videos, and other community creations. This initiative became a cornerstone of ARK’s community engagement strategy, providing consistent recognition for players’ creativity and contributions. By curating and celebrating user-generated content, I helped foster a sense of pride and visibility among creators, encouraged ongoing participation, and strengthened the emotional connection between players and the game. Over time, Community Crunch became a highly anticipated feature that reinforced ARK’s identity as a player-driven experience.

Sponsored Mods Program
Through my work on the Community Crunch, I also helped showcase and amplify the work of ARK’s incredibly talented modding community. One of the most impactful initiatives I supported was the launch of the Sponsored Mod Program, which provided funding and visibility to standout creators. This program legitimized ARK’s modding scene and led to integrating major community-made content—such as Structures Plus (S+) and the Ragnarok map—into the official game. By regularly featuring these projects and their creators in the Community Crunch, we celebrated fan innovation and demonstrated Studio Wildcard’s commitment to elevating community contributions. This visibility helped drive creator engagement, inspire new talent, and strengthen the bond between players and the development team.

Dedication to Roleplay Support
ARK players became known for their architectural creativity and storytelling. Roleplay servers (especially on Twitch) flourished during this period, with players constructing intricate castles, towns, and themed builds that were often featured by the studio. I actively supported the game’s vibrant roleplaying and content creator communities, which played a key role in ARK’s long-term success. I spotlighted RP-friendly mods and servers in weekly Community Crunch updates and worked closely with modders through the Sponsored Mod Program to elevate tools like Eco’s RP décor and Structures Plus. I provided early access to updates and assets for streamers and YouTubers, enabling them to craft narrative content around major game events, and amplified their work across official channels. I also collaborated with server admins to gather feedback, inform patch planning, and ensure seasonal in-game events could be meaningfully integrated into roleplay experiences. This approach helped foster a creative, self-sustaining community that became one of ARK’s most engaged player bases.

Feature Nerf Controversy
The "flyer nerf" in ARK: Survival Evolved was a significant balancing update introduced that dramatically altered how flying creatures functioned in the game. It quickly became one of the most controversial updates in ARK’s history. I monitored sentiment, relayed critical feedback to the dev team, and crafted transparent, empathetic messaging to explain the intent behind the change. I provided real-time updates on follow-up balancing patches, helped support modding solutions like Classic Flyers, and ensured developer visibility through forums and Community Crunch posts. This experience taught me how to navigate high-pressure comms with transparency, empathy, and consistency.

Official Server Wipe & Save File Releases
Ahead of ARK: Survival Evolved’s full release, we announced a server wipe. This highly controversial decision triggered widespread concern among our long-time players. I played a critical role in supporting communications around this transition. I helped craft messaging that explained the reasons behind the wipe, including technical limitations and the need to maintain server integrity post-launch. I monitored and reported community sentiment in real time, ensuring we were aware of the community’s concerns. I also supported the rollout of a solution: offering downloadable save files so players could preserve their progress on their own server. Maintaining transparency, responding directly to concerns on forums and social platforms, and working closely with internal teams helped guide the community through a difficult moment while preserving player trust.

TORN BANNER STUDIOS, CHIVALRY 2

I joined Torn Banner Studios as Community Manager for Chivalry 2 on the day it was announced, June 10, 2019. I supported the game through its development and eventual launch on June 8, 2021. Chivalry 2 is a multiplayer first-person slasher inspired by epic medieval battles, featuring large-scale combat and cinematic gameplay.

Community Highlights

Under my leadership, Chivalry 2 developed a passionate, rowdy, and loyal community that significantly shaped the game’s post-launch life.

Chivalry 2 Reveal & First Hands-On
I was on the frontlines for Chivalry 2’s official reveal at PAX East 2020—an exciting moment that marked the game’s first public hands-on experience. I supported press and creator engagement on-site and helped guide attendees through gameplay demos, giving them their first taste of chaotic medieval warfare. In addition to providing community-facing support, I captured video and photo content for promotional use, ensuring that the excitement of the event reached our wider online audience. This moment generated a surge of organic buzz, kick-starting the community’s hype cycle and setting the tone for future engagement across social media, Discord, and fan spaces.

Roleplay & Taunt Culture
One of the most memorable and beloved aspects of the Chivalry 2 community was its embrace of the game’s absurd, over-the-top voice lines and roleplay potential. As Community Manager, I leaned into this energy by celebrating the viral appeal of taunts like “For Agatha!” and “I’m a genius!” which quickly became memes, remixes, TikToks, and even fan-made merchandise. By encouraging this kind of player expression and incorporating it into our community spotlights and social content, I helped reinforce Chivalry 2’s distinct player identity—one rooted in humor, chaos, and camaraderie. This approach not only deepened player engagement but made the game instantly recognizable across broader gaming communities.

Player Highlight Reels & Montages
Our community thrived on sharing incredible killstreaks, cinematic montages, and hilarious fails—especially across Twitter, YouTube, and Discord. I actively curated and featured the best of this user-generated content in our weekly community spotlights, dev streams, and social posts. This recognition encouraged ongoing participation and helped build a strong sense of community ownership. Many of these clips gained traction beyond our immediate player base, regularly being cross-posted to larger subreddits like r/gaming and r/pcgaming. By fueling a consistent cycle of visibility and creator appreciation, I helped turn everyday players into contributors to our brand storytelling.

Dev Streams & AMAs
To foster transparency and build trust with our players, I planned and hosted biweekly developer livestreams on Twitch, where fans could connect directly with the people behind the game. These streams offered live Q&As, sneak peeks at upcoming content, and casual conversations that helped humanize the development team. I also organized Ask Me Anything (AMA) sessions in our official Discord server, where developers from various departments—design, art, programming, and more—answered player questions and shared insights about their work. These sessions significantly increased player satisfaction, showing that their voices were not only heard but valued within the studio.

Embracing the Memes
Rather than treat memes and community humor as peripheral, I made them a core part of our engagement strategy. From cosplay of Chivalry knights to viral memes about the Mason vs. Agatha rivalry, our community expressed its love for the game in wonderfully creative (and often chaotic) ways. I amplified these efforts through retweets, Discord features, and weekly highlights—validating that Chivalry 2 was more than just a game; it was a shared cultural experience. By embracing and celebrating this kind of organic player creativity, I helped deepen emotional ties between the community and the brand, and reinforced our reputation as a game that doesn’t take itself too seriously—in all the right ways.

DEV VIDEOS, INTERVIEWS, & LIVESTREAMS

As Community Manager, I regularly represented the studio in video content, including interviews with media and our internal Developer Diaries. I also produced and hosted biweekly Twitch livestreams featuring dev team members discussing their work on Chivalry 2.

ASSET PORTFOLIO

I have created numerous promotional screenshots in Unreal Engine 4 for marketing purposes. Drawing on my photography background, I composed, lit, and posed scenes, with final polish provided by the Art department.

CONVENTIONS & PRESS EVENTS

At PAX East 2020, I represented Chivalry 2 by guiding first-time players through the game, as well as capturing photo and video content for the studios promotional use.

TREASURE

I joined Treasure on October 16, 2023, as a Community Manager focused on community growth, social media management, and engagement initiatives. Treasure is a web3 gaming ecosystem using $MAGIC as a shared currency across its connected games. I also supported individual game communities and promoted titles across the platform. Treasure has since migrated away from gaming and is now developing AI technology.

I was a strategic community consultant for Treasure and their 15+ partnered games, helping dev teams shape engagement and presence. I advised internal teams on better positioning their products for traditional gaming audiences, including strategies to address hesitant player bases.
